“Create A Shield” Wellbeing Game
“Create a Shield” is a free wellbeing game and app intended for Year 6 to year 13 aged students.
This is a restriction added for users who identify as under 13 years of age. This restricts access to the last 3 quests. These quests maybe considered more suitable for 13 + year olds.
This can be a self paced learning resource and used as homework or can be a, in class, group learning resource. Teachers or facilitators can play the video lesson as stand alone on a screen and printable question sheets can be download from here.
This digital resource, funded by Te Puni Kōkiri, is designed to help teachers and parents encourage learning amongst rangatahi. This digital resource uses videos to teach and showcase good wellbeing ideas, tools, strategies and initiatives happening around Aotearoa.
After each little video snippet, players are asked to answer a question.
Question types can be multi choice, enter text, drag and match, choose correct pictures, augmented reality and more.
Players and students will be exposed to learning areas such as:

Useful tools and tips when dealing with sadness and depression

“Create A Shield” is made up of 18 levels and video lessons with 180 questions, quizzes and rewards.
The video content features three providers that run rangatahi and tamariki health and wellbeing activities, workshops, camps and programs across Aotearoa. Te Tai Timu Trust, Te Rau Ora,Tu Kaha Foundation
Teachers, Parents and facilitators can create squads (groups) to be able to track the progress of students.
